Ever Present Fire

I feel the soft white skin,
So perfect and clean.
So unlike me.

It's so easy to redden
This perfect vision.
So easy to make what was clean
An Ever Present Fire.

I score my heart out
And watch the blood rise.
It makes me feel right
But it's wrong to tell lies.

So I'll wipe the blood clean,
At least for now
And I'll tell them why my Sorrow ends.

Meanwhile all I can see
Is the Bright Red Flame
That never will go out
And I cry with the shame,
I cry for the lies,
I cry for my future,
But I scored out my past
With the Ever Present Fire
